New Matching Pairs Feature March 6th, 2026

I saw that matching pairs has been changed. Now it interrupts learners with "continue activity" after each pair. It makes the activity more of a nuisance than an enjoyable lesson. It seems like this may be a way to deter students from clicking and matching too quickly, but for students who are mature it puts a damper on the activity. Essentially, you are punishing mature learners due to the bad behavior of immature learners. If there would be a way for teachers to choose between the old version and the new version, that would be great!

Agreed! I'm glad I'm not alone in disliking this new update! The old matching pairs format was much better! Not only does this slow down the process for the students, but now all of the flash cards can't be displayed on the screen at one time, making it tedious for students to scroll up and down on their iPads to find the correct matches. Nearpod... can you change it back?!
